Marrying people and making music and beds
The Story behind The Songs
Lara's first collection of songs and videos is called ‘Album For Ex Lovers’.

Lara has a side hustle as a wedding celebrant. This means she makes money (some at least, she spends most of it on outfits that match the wedding ceremony, like the questionable pastel trouser suit beneath) writing and telling other people's stories of happy ever after.

But Lara doesn't have a happy ever after. Instead she has lots of little love stories, and that's fine by her because she's always enjoyed poems, songs and short stories over, let's say, ‘War and Peace’ or ‘Anna Karenina’.

But the little stories don't get to get told out loud to family and friends. Lara had kept schtumm about the stories of her ex lovers for many a year, but when Covid came all those voices in her head started to get louder and louder, and the ex lovers started clamouring to be let out.

And so she's letting them. Course, they don't get to tell how their stories are told, she does.
As Lin Manuel Miranda so aptly put it: Who tells your story?

If you'd like to listen to or purchase my music that would be just WONDERFUL! It's available here, I think, or else on Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music etcetera etcetera etcetera. Just search for Lara and The Birds.
